The greatest non U.S. opportunities for franchising success are in India.  For several years now everyone has been watching China while India has been quietly building an infrastructure that is perfect for new businesses like franchises.  The citizens of India are highly education and highly motivated.  The income of the average Indian is rising and their expendable income is rising.  Wal-Mart is even moving into India.

How do you take advantage of this ripe market if you don’t live in India?  Well you could partner with someone in India.  You provide the capital and they provide the on-site management of the business.  Or you could move to India for a few years and establish new businesses.
