 There are dozens of franchise Web sites online today.  With the exception of a few unique sites the rest are all the same.  They include the same information about the same franchises.  Most of these generate revenue when a franchise opportunity advertises on their sites.  There are pros and cons to that model.  The pros are that entrepreneurs have valuable directories of franchises.  The cons are that the more the franchise pays to be listed the better positioning it gets (basic advertising model).  Franchise Gecko generates revenue from Google Adsense and affiliate ads.  The Google ads are managed by Google so we don’t know what service or products will be listed.  If you see a post about XYZ franchise and an ad for XYZ franchise is shown on that page you can be sure that it was generated by Google.  We don’t know what ads will appear.  Occasionally you may see a affiliate advertising when the Webmaster feels that the product or service is too valuable to take a chance of Google leaving it out of the page.   

Franchise Gecko is based on the opinion of people that have worked in the franchise field, currently work in the industry, or are very familiar with franchising.  Most posts will come from one writer who worked in the franchise industry for several years and has been exposed to hundreds of franchise opportunities.  He has seen what works and what doesn’t and hopes to share his knowledge and experience with the readers of this blog.
